Revoking a talaaq in iddah

Q: My husband gave me talaaq on 2 separate occasions. He said the first time it was out of anger and didn't mean it. Does it count as 2?

I'm currently in iddah for 1 week. He told me he revoked this talaaq. Does this mean we are back in nikkah even if I don't go back home or accept?

A: Talaaq issued in the state of anger is valid. Hence, the two talaaqs which your husband gave you has taken place. If he said that he has revoked the talaaq and taken you back in his nikaah, then your iddat has ended and you are still in his nikaah.

You do not have the right to refuse as revoking the talaaq during the wife's iddat period is the right of the husband. However, since your husband has issued two talaaqs, he only has one talaaq remaining.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
