Reciting Surah Waaqi'ah at night to protect one from poverty

Q: Does reciting Surah Waaqi'ah at night protect one from poverty?

A: Reciting Surah Waaqi'ah at night is prescribed in the sunnah, and one of the virtues of reciting it is that Allah Ta'ala will save one from poverty.

However, it should be borne in mind that these types of prophetic prescriptions are subject to certain conditions being found. If those conditions are found, then one will receive these special virtues (e.g. one adopts a life of taqwa and piety, refrains from sins and follows the mubaarak sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)).

Hence, if one recites this surah daily and has hope that Allah Ta'ala will grant one barakah in one's wealth and sustenance through reciting it, then insha Allah, one will be granted this virtue and blessing.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
