Q: How does one know one has حب الدنيا (love for the world) and how to remove it?
A: When one prefers anything or any person over the command of Allah Ta`ala and His beloved Rasul-e-Paak (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). Think to yourself that every favour that you enjoy is from the loving hands of Allah Ta`ala. There isn't a single thing that you don't enjoy from Him directly or indirectly. So how can you betray Him?
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
