Q: My menses has ended but due to illness I was unable to perform ghusl but can perform wudhu. Should I perform tayammum then pray or wudhu then pray until I get better? And after I get better and can perform ghusl, should I make up these prayers?
A: If a pious Muslim doctor advises you not to bath on account of your illness (i.e. water being harmful to the body or delaying the process of recovery), then you should make tayammum with the intention of ghusal. Thereafter, you can perform your salaah with this tayammum. After performing tayammum, you do not have to make a separate wudhu for salaah as the tayammum performed for ghusal will suffice for salaah. However, when your wudhu breaks later on, then you should make wudhu to perform salaah.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
