Ruling on a clean shaven haafiz

Q:

1. Will a clean shaven Hafiz be termed as a fasiq in Shari'ah?

2. Will his Shahadat be accepted?

3. Can he lead Taraweeh Salah in his own house with people behind?

4. Can he be appointed to assist with administrative and running of finances in a Masjid?

A: A clean shaven person should not be appointed as the imaam to lead the jamaat, whether in the musjid or out of the musjid. Such a person is regarded as a faajir (an open sinner) in the Shariah, and his shahaadat is not worthy of acceptance in the Islamic court of law. Such a person should not be given any deeni position or appointed to administrate any of the affairs of the masjid.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
