Q: Virtue of reciting Surah Ikhlaas 10 times:
(1) Enter Jannah from any of its entrance. (2) Marry any Hoor (Houri) in the Jannah. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir 5/616)
Is this true? This virtue is for anyone that recite Surah Ikhlas ten times after obligatory prayers.
A: This virtue is mentioned in the following Hadith which appears in Musnad of Abu Ya'laa. Though this Hadith is reported with a weak chain, it is acceptable according to the Muhadditheen as it relates to Fazaail Aamaal (virtuous deeds) and it does not relate to Ahkaam (Islamic rulings and laws pertaining to halaal and haraam). However, it should be understood that these types of virtues will be obtained on condition that one's imaan is intact and one refrains from major sins which becomes an impediment for receiving these virtues.
Hazrat Jaabir (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
"Whoever does the following three actions with Imaan, will enter Jannah from whichever door he wishes and will be married to the Hoorul ‘Een of Jannah whenever he wishes,
1) forgives his murderer, 2) pays a debt of some person secretly 3) recites Surah Ikhlas ten times after Fard Salaah.
Hazrat Abu Bakr (radiyallahu ‘anhu) asked Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), ‘What about doing one only’? Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) replied, ‘Even if you do one only [you will attain this reward]’" (Musnad Abi Ya’la Al-Mowsili #1794)
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
