Being held accountable in the Hereafter for not distributing one's estate Islamically

Q: Will people who are unaware of Islamic inheritance law be held accountable in the afterlife for not distributing their estate accordingly—a situation that may have violated the rights of others? Or will they be excused due to their ignorance?

A: As they will be held accountable for not performing salaah and not paying debts, they will be held accountable for this as well. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. When you receive wealth then there are obligations related to it. So it is your obligation to learn the obligations related to it, like zakaat, spending on one's dependents etc. If someone did not learn this, he will not be exempt from the consequences of the hereafter.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
