Q: If I want to marry someone, can I make dua to marry them taking their name?
A: If a person has sent a proposal for you and you are not sure as to whether the person is a good match for you, then you can mention the person's name in your dua when asking Allah Ta'ala to guide you to that which is best for you.
However, if you did not receive a proposal from any person, then in this case, it is better for you not to take any specific person's name when making dua but just ask Allah Ta'ala to grant you someone who is best for you in regard to your deen and dunya.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
