Consoling a person whose friend passed away

Q: How should I console a friend whose close friend passed away? Is it fine to say he will go to heaven inshallah? What should I say and do? What about neighbour's whose close one's passed away?

A: If the person who passed away is a Muslim, then you may say, "May Allah Ta'ala forgive the deceased and grant him a high stage in the hereafter."

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
