Performing salaah when one experiences a strong urge to relieve himself

Q: What should be done if one prayed while needing to urinate/defecate, wants to pray the same salah again after relieving himself, but a disliked time for salah (asr, fajr) is going to enter?

Should one repeat the prayer during the disliked time anyway?

A: If he does not have a strong urge, then he can continue with his salaah. However, if the urge is strong and it is difficult to concentrate in the salaah due to the urge, then he should break his salaah and go to relieve himself. Thereafter, he should make wudhu and perform his salaah. Performing salaah in this condition, where one experiences a strong urge to relieve himself, is makrooh tahreemi and not permissible.

Nevertheless, in both cases, the salaah will be valid and it will not be compulsory upon one to repeat the salaah if one performed all the postures correctly with tadeel-e-arkaan (i.e. one waited in each posture - ruku, sajdah, qowmah and jalsah - for little while before going into the next posture).

If one did not perform all the postures correctly and one hastened through the salaah, then it will be compulsory upon one to repeat the salaah as long as the time of the salaah remains.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
