Q: There is a hadith where the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, "Whoever dies without fighting in the way of Allah or intended to fight then he has died on a branch of hypocrisy" and in the Quran, in Surah Tawbah, Allah said that if they had intended then they would have prepared equipment for fighting.
So my question is, should every Muslim prepare gears or equipment to do jihad? If yes, then there is another hadith where the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, "Do not wish to face an enemy. Seek protection and peace from Allah and be patient when you face them."
Can you please explain these three like are they contradicting? I am confused like the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said that do not wish to face and Allah says if you intended then prepare equipment. Can you please clarify.

A: There could be one of two situations. One is where there is a valid cause of jihaad. In such a case, you may participate so long as it is right and there is no doubt about the people and the cause that they are striving for.
And the other situation is where you cannot find people who are striving for the right cause. Then strive to the best of your ability to defend and propagate the truth, for the purpose of striving is to elevate and ensure that the word and the law of Allah Ta`ala prevails over everything else. By doing so, by the grace of Allah Ta`ala, you will be counted as a mujahid.
One of the ways that this can be achieved is through the effort of the jamaat work, provided it is done in the original undiluted way.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
