Q: There is a person who got a debt off 200k which he owes for a few years. He recently borrowed another 300k to purchase a house on loan and he still has the 300k on hand. He earns about 30k per month which he uses mostly for his necessities. Can zakaat be given to him to pay off his debt?
A: If his debts are more than his assets, then he can be assisted with zakaat.
