Q: Are we allowed to make dua for someone who's already married? I'm a female, who wants to marry this man. He's married already but separated from he's wife. Am I allowed to make dua asking Allah to grant me a marriage with him? Or am I sinful as I'm requesting Allah to make them get divorced?
A: Do not make dua for him to divorce his wife. This is not permissible. However, make dua to Allah Ta'ala to grant you a suitable spouse who will be good for your deen and dunya.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
