Q:
1. What is the Shari' status of getting married? Is it Fardh, sunnah muakkadah, wajib, etc.?
2. What should be the niyah of a person who wants to get married?
3. What is the sunnah method of getting married. i.e. How did the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) conduct marriages in his time.
A: In the case where one fears that if he does not marry, he will fall into zina, then if he has the means to get married and sustain the nikaah, it will be fard upon him to get married and save himself from haraam.
In normal cases, it is sunnat e muakkaddah to make nikaah if one has the means to get married.
One's intention should be to uphold the sunnah and protect oneself from falling into sin.
