Making an effort to learn Deen

Q: If someone sins and they do not know that they need to change, and no one tells them, is the person still accountable and are their actions written as a sin?

A: Since there are many avenues available for one to learn deen and come to know which actions are permissible and which actions are impermissible and amount to a sin, one cannot regard himself as excused for not knowing.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
