Using money donated for the building of a musjid for other purposes

Q: Musallees are reading salaah in a tent/wood and iron structure. This structure was destroyed or partly damaged in a recent storm. Money is collected to build a Musjid. Can the committee use these funds to renovate the temporary structure?

A: If the money was donated for building a musjid, then it should only be used for the purpose it was donated for (i.e. building the musjid).

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
