Using lemon juice in a science experiment

Q: There is a small science experiment where you can write something using lemon juice on paper, which is not visible when dried. When heat is applied to the area, it becomes visible. I want to know if doing this experiment at a school (a girls-only Islamic school) is permissible or if it is considered wastefulness of the lemon juice?

A: If there is no benefit acquired through this, then this is regarded as wastefulness.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
