Q: I would like to know if a person can pay zakaat for 3 years in advance. If it is permissible then how would one work out the amount for zakaat?
A: Yes, if zakaat is compulsory upon a person, then on his zakaat date, when calculating his zakaat, he can give the zakaat for the wealth he has in his possession for three years.
If he receives any more wealth, then he will have to give the zakaat of that wealth separately.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
