Q: I live with my husband's parents. When anyone of his parents take ill (flu, headache, etc.) he is quickly at their side taking care of them with kidness and concern with dutiful love. In contrast when I take ill he is apathetic. The same level of love and care is not shown (if any). I find this very hurtful especially since I live in an extended family and I am his wife and mother of his children. I have explained my feelings to him on multiple occasions to which he arrogantly ignored.
A: Showing affection and being concerned about one's wife at the time when she is ill is also part of the mubaarak sunnah and teachings of Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam). May Allah Ta'ala grant your husband the correct deeni understanding and bless him with the sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) in all facets of his life.
After salaah, make dua for him and ensure that you are obedient to him and fulfill his rights, perhaps this will be a means for him to be more affectionate towards you.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
