Using Zakaat money for a Musjid

Q: Can we use zakaat money for a musjid?

A: In order for the Zakaat to be discharged, the Zakaat money should be given to a recipient of Zakaat. Through giving the Zakaat money to the Musjid, the Zakaat will not be discharged.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

ويشترط أن يكون الصرف ( تمليكا ) لا إباحة كما مر ( لا ) يصرف ( إلى بناء ) نحو ( مسجد) (شامي 2/344)
