Ruqyah

Q: I have been too much worried about the marriage issue of my daughter for three years. Many proposals came for her but nobody return who came to my house to see my daughter. An aalim told me that listening to 'ruqyah' is a treatment of some kind of seher, jinnat and evil eye. So I started to listen, but after two days I saw in my dream that me and my husband were going toward my car which was parked somewhere, as I got closer to my car I felt somebody inside already. As I opened the door of car it was not like car from inside, it was like empty house and a girl was moving here and there madly like she was finding the way out but unable to find the way. When I got up it was 4:00 am and I was very scared. I want to know whether this dream has any connection with listening to ruqyah?

Keeping one's children indoors during the evening

Q: Please advise regarding the time between asr and maghrib. We usually have the children inside by asr when narrations of the jinn and shayaateen come out at the time of maghrib only? Please advise regarding which is the best times to have them indoors and please advise regarding being in the bathroom at Maghrib time and midnight?

Eating snakes and killing chicken with one's teeth

Q: I have come across a video that is taken from a TV show in Pakistan showing pakistani army members eating snakes and killing chicken with their teeth and drinking its blood and not saying Allah's name while killing. They do all this while safe in their bases where they have all the halaal food available and the means to slaughter the animals is also available. But they are doing this as an exercise for survival if they are lost in a jungle or behind enemy lines. I want to have an Islamic point of view regarding this practice. Is it halaal or haram. Many Muslims who join the army are made to eat many haram animals during their training. Is this all justified by the "necessity" of training the troops?

Performing multiple Jummah Salaahs in one Musjid

Q: Is it permissible to perform multiple Friday (Jummah) Jamaats/congregation due to lack of space here in West? The masjids are far away and are small so cannot hold many people, due to which they perform multiple jamaats, so is it permissible? Also please tell us what if the same Imam who performed the first jamaat also performs the second Jamaat as well? Would the second prayer be valid? Please tell us about praying Friday in a masjid where the Khutbah is given in English instead of Arabic? I cannot find any masjid in our area where they give the khutbah in Arabic? Will the prayer be valid?

Why does the Qur'an start with Bismillah?

Q: My question is very basic and very few of us would have actually noticed it. Although we Muslims recite it most frequently. Firstly every verse of the holy Qur'an starts with bismillah, meaning "In the name of Allah". Secondly we all consider the Qur'an to be preserved in its original form and not a single word has been added or deleted by Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam). Thirdly we all know that the source of the Qur'an is Allah Ta'ala himself. My question is why Allah would start the Qur'an saying "In the name of Allah" if Allah himself has revealed the Qur'an. Every verse of the Quran must have started as "in my name" and not as "in the name of Allah". Can it be possible that Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) himself added bismillah keeping in view the first aayah "iqra"?
