Performing Salaah on a musalla which has the picture of Musjid ul Haraam

Q: Is it permissible to perfrom Salaah on a Musalllah which has a 'picture' of Musjid ul Haraam or would it be disrespectful?

Removing mazi from one's clothing

Q: Does the rule allowing Mani to be scraped off from the garments (for purification) also apply to Mazi?

Communicating with women for business purposes

Q: My items are advertised online and then shipped to customers. I do not have a physical store. I therefore communicate with customers, potential customers, suppliers, distributors and so forth via correspondence. These are often woman, almost always non-Muslim, from all different countries. I am a male. Regarding communicating with woman for business purposes:

1. Is it permissible to use formal business formalities/etiquette in email? For example, to say: "Good morning", "Hope you are well", "I look forward to your response", "It is a pleasure doing business with you", "All the best", "Kind regards" and so forth.

2. Is it permissible to communicate with them via the more 'informal methods' like SMS / WhatsApp / BBM / Facebook Chat / Twitter Direct Messaging etc.? I am mostly contacted via these methods initially.

3. If Question 2 is permissible: Can one use more informal terms like "Hi", "Hello","Thanks" and so forth when communicating over those mediums mentioned in Question 2?

4. Is it permissible to phone them and speak over the phone when necessary? In all the instances above, everything will be kept to the point of need and related to the business.

Facing difficulties

Q: What should I do? Everything I do in life is a failure. I have never had any success in my life. I feel helpless. I cannot provide sufficiently for my wife and child. We are bankrupt. Our business is broke. I am broke. Nothing is going the way it should. We read our namaaz, we pray to Allah asking for his divine intervention, but its as if Allah does not acknowledge us. We are in a lot of debt. I have given up, I feel like my only way out is death.

Zakaat and lillah collector

Q: If a person is working as a collector for one of the darul ulooms to collect zakaat, sadqaat lillaah for the darul uloom, is it permissible or is it haraam to work as a collector for a darul uloom and the money which he earns through this job from the darul uloom will be halaal or is it haraam?

Scanning haraam items in a supermarket

Q: Is it permissible to work as a checkout/till operator in a big supermarket? Is my income Halaal? I have to handle Alchohol/Pork/Haraam Chicken and Beef to scan these items. I hold the very tips of the meat products so that I touch the least amount as possible. I have tried my best, my very very very best to look for alternative work but I just cannot find anything else. I ask Allaah to forgive me if I am doing wrong but this is the only success thatI have had job wise.

Free travel insurance with tickets purchased using a credit card

Q: If a person pays for a flight overseas with his credit card, the bank provides free travel insurance. Will it be permissible to use a credit card (which he keeps in positive balance so as not to get involved in credit but to get a good credit record) to purchase his flight tickets with the card with the intention of getting the insurance? If not paying with the credit card he would have to use cash or a debit card anyway.

Facing the qiblah

Q: Our masjid was built in the 1980’s and the committee at that time put the carpet in line with the building although the qibla was at an angle so that more musalees could pray salaah. The qibla is out by approximately 23 degrees. The link bellow shoes the correct qibla in Blue line and the qible being used is in line with the centre ridge of the roof.

http://www.elahmad.com/maps/qibla-english.htm?latitude=53.565809&longitu...

A mufti gave a fatwa some years after the masjid was built, that they could continue praying salaah in the current wrong direction to prevent controversy, but if the carpet is ever changed, then the correct qibla should be followed. Last month the current committee changed the carpet (knowing the fatwa given by the mufti to change the qibla direction if the carpet is changed) but kept the old incorrect qibla. Will salaah in the masjid with the wrong qibla be accepted? Does the committee need to move the carpet so that the correct qibla is achieved?

Explanation of a Hadith

Q: Never does anybody leave something for the sake of Allah but Allah will give him something better in exchange.

What is the Meaning of the above? Does it mean that If one leaves his family and goes to jamat or other deeni cause then Allah will reward with some better reward? Or does it mean that if one leaves out haraam act or food then one will receive better than that for the sacrifice one makes? Please can you clarify?

Sahaabi's mill producing flour on it's own

Q: There is a story that is told sometimes and I want to know if it is authentic. The Story is of a sahabi who had poverty in his house so he went to the Masjid and made namaz and duaa. He repeated this three times. When he got home after the third time, the Mill moved on its own and flour poured out. This showing the help of Allah. Is this authentic?
