Q: What is the Shari'ah ruling on reading salaah on a foam mattress. The mattress is approximately 12mm thin and is made of sponge. The mattress provides a cushion, thus reducing pain on feet, knees, etc.

Q: I made istikhara about a proposal for my marriage. I am 28 and a male. I saw 3 different dreams and I was waking up after each dream during the night. All 3 dreams were confusing and in the morning my heart was in fear but later the day I was relaxed again. Below are three dreams. Please help me in getting their meaning.

1- I saw a girl and there was a man with him and it seem like the man wanted to hurt that girl, I was watching that girl and man from some distance and I was hiding myself behind a car so that the man couldn't see me but then he saw me and captured me. At this point I woke up and I was in fear.

2- I saw a girl from her back with her mother. They came out of a taxi and she took her away. I could feel that the mother was very protected towards the girl.

3- I saw a big house and on the roof of this house I saw myself with some more people. All of us were surrounding the borders of the roof and we had guns in our hands. There were dark shadows trying to enter the house and we were shooting with guns those dark shadows. We were trying to stop them from entering the house and we were successfully shooting them. Then I woke up and my heart was really confused. I don't know this girl and my family arranged this proposal and they are satisfied except for the height of the girl. I only saw her picture before making istikhara. I liked her picture. Please guide me, Jazakallah.

Q: I have a friend who calls azaan repeatedly before its actual timings in roads and in restaurants and shops. I told him to not do that but he says calling it is good. Isn't azaan should be called on prayer time only? Please give detail answer whether I am wrong or he?

Q: What is the meaning of a Muslim girl's name - Gafieldah?

Q: I just wanted to ask:

1. Is it permissible to eat beef, chicken or lamb meat slaughtered by people of the book?

2. If its not halaal, then how do you interpret the verse in the Quran which says meat that has been slaughtered by people of the book is permissible for Muslims?

Q: If I do a secret nikaah according to Shari'ah in the presence of a Moulana and some unknown witnesses but I don't register the nikaah papers, will it be acceptable in Islam and would he be considered my husband?

Q: What if a person does not do his tawaaf-e-ziyaarah before the sunset of the 12th of Zil Hijjah?

1. How will one know if a person is eligible for zakaat?

2. What happens if you give your zakaat to someone you thought was eligible but found out later that the person was not?

Q: When one intends nikaah, what qualities should one look for in the person one wishes to get married to?

Q: Can we can watch TV and listen to music? Is it prohibited in Islam or not?
