Conditions for the validity of Nikaah

Maintaining one's Hindu culture after accepting Islam

Q: I am a Muslim but my boyfriend is Hindu. He is going to convert to Islam and then we will get married. My question is that after accepting Islam, he wants to keep his culture the way it was. For example, he wants to have a wedding according to the Hindu culture. Is it permissible for him to keep his Hindu culture?

Also, I am willing to turn vegetarian because he was brought up as a vegetarian. Is it permissible for me to do this?

Girl consenting to marriage

Q: A girl is not a virgin and was married previously. This is her second marriage.

When talking about her marriage with mother, the girl said something that her mother understands that her daughter wants to marry. Her father then performed her nikaah without the daughter present. A few days after nikaah, the boy and girl engaged in sexual intercourse. Is this ok?

Families delaying marriage

Q: I am in love with a Muslim girl. Both of our families know about us and we always force them to get us married, but they are delaying without reason. I earn more than enough to run a family. Both our families said that they will arrange our marriage in the year 2020.

We want to make it halal by marrying according to Islamic rules. Will our nikaah be valid if we get married without informing our family?

Repeating a nikaah

Q: Can a person do nikah twice with the same woman. I am from Pakistan, residing in China. Can I do nikah with my fiance there and when I come back to Pakistan I do nikah again. Our parents are willing to our marriage.

Forced marriage

Q: I was forced to marry a person whom I did not like. I told my mother many times that I dont want to marry this person but my family was not willing to call off the marriage. One night before the nikah I consumed sleeping pills with intention of commuting suicide (Astagfirulkah). The next day I was under the influence of medicine and I don’t remember anything. During my subconscious state my nikah was done with the boy. I was not in my complete senses. I informed my husband about the suicidal step that I have taken and that I don’t want to live with him. Is this Nikah valid as my consent was not given in complete consciousness.
