Q: I am really worried about my parents who have been married for 30 yrs. My mom thinks my dad is cheating on her and I think she might be right... My dad has rejected these claims many times... He is away from the house for long hours because of his work and comes for dinner and leaves again and comes back late at night. I know it might be seem unreal but his work sometimes compels him that's what I think... I am scared that if he is cheating, I know my mom will leave him or worse, maybe even tell him to leave... I love both my parents and I don't want them to separate. What should I do ? I am very worried, I pray everyday for them to be together. But the situation is really getting out of hand and they fight every day.

Fearing that parents fighting might affect one's marriage

Q: My mother n father never had a strong bond, most of the time they are fighting alot. Although my mother is very aggressive and tends to yell alot, my dad is physically and mentally abusive. At the moment we suspect he is cheating on her. Anyhow my question to you is, will it happen to me after marriage too? Will I go through the same torture as my mother? As a lesson for my father for treating someone else's daughter badly?

Father ill-treating mother

Q: I'm female and married. Right now I'm passing through difficult times and this is between my parents. My father is not speaking to my mother and this happens every six months on such small things. I have 2 younger sisters. We never interrupted between them fearing that they might get separated.  He is not staying with them and threatening my mother that he can marry any women if he can.

Q: My question is regarding parents fighting and being separated. They have been fighting my whole life with as time passes fights have gotten uglier with lots of physical and verbal abuse. I am married now and stay a few hours away from them but they still drag me into their arguments and both expect me to say they are right and the other is wrong. I'm really tired and can't deal with it anymore. I just can't move on with my life and they keep dragging me down making me feel guilty that I am happy with my husband. What is the Islamic ruling on parents who do that. I don't want to be disobedient to them in any way because I fear Allah's punishment but I don't know what to do and how to deal with this.
