Dreams

Dreaming that my deceased father came to visit us in our family business wearing white

Q: (My Murhoom father passed away on Friday 27th July 2012, in Ramadhaaan) 2 nights later i dreamt he came to visit us at work (family business) he was dressed in white and was very excited to visit us. I bumped into him and asked him Daddy what are you doing here, he said he came to visit us,i told him i just want to ask you just 1 question, to which he replied i can ask him 5 questions only. The first question was Daddy does Jannah really exist to which he smiled and said yes, 2nd question was are you in Jannah, to which he smiled and said yes. Third question was are you angry with me to which he replied no, fourth question was do you need anything to eat, which he said no, the 5th question i don not remember. He then asked where is my husband (used to call him Janam) and as Dad turned around to look for him, my husband extended his hand and said "Farouk" what are you doign here and again Dad said i came to visit. Husband said ok i just want to ask you 1 question to which dad replied you can ask me 3. He asked dad does Jahanam really exist and dad said sternly yes, he asked if shaytaan existed and he said yes and told my husband shaytaan is living underground and explained to him ahow shaytaan comes to trouble, 3rd question was do you have any unfinished work here and dad said no. He then abruptly walked away and went into my brothers office, he quickly hugged my elder sister who was in the office and was smiling and playing with her and was telling my brohter not to be so involved in his work and to live life.

In the dream my baby woke up and i turned to see her in that time daddy walked passed the kitchen (where mum and other sister were cooking) and went straight to eldest brothers office where it became dark and gloomy and daddy looked upset.

The dream ended like that. Am not sure what it all means. Before daddy passed away (the wednesday) he said he forgives and forgets about anyone or anything that hurt or upset him and that he wants to move on. We were supposed to take him to Durban that friday he passed away as my eldest brother had been fighting with my father and told him to pack his stuff and leave. Daddy was very hurt and said he will go to durban but he wont make it. we never understood he wont make it meaning he will leave this world. My other brother was supposed to fetch him after 4 weeks to live with him after he had found a house to keep my father and move all his stuff. Till today there is alot of fighting going on and it very heart breaking.

Dreaming that my adoptive mother phones & says that my biological mother has committed suicide

Q: "My husband & I were returning home after visiting my biological & adoptive parents. My adoptive mother phones & says that my biological mother has committed suicide."

I awoke with a shock but felt at ease to know it was only a dream. I am very worried & scared about this dream as my biological brother & sister-in-law are having problems in their marriage & has left the family devastated.

Dreaming of my deceased father handing me an envelope of money

Q: I had a dream just before I woke up for my tahjud namaz. I saw that I am going somewhere and I have no money and I am upset how will I come back. Suddenly my father comes and give me an envelope with money. I feel happy my father died four years ago. I am a widow and I am going through a lot of problems please pray for me I am very sad.

Dreaming of my grandfather after making Istikhara

Q: After praying istikhara I had a dream before fajr namaz. In the dream I saw my late grandfather in our apartment, as if he had come to visit us with other relatives. The relatives brought us several full knotted dastarkhans (tablecloths). Under the soles of their shoes instead of dust or dirt was something white, like lime. Escorting guests into the room, I was surprised to see that in two of our rooms the tablecloth are spread out, and on the tablecloths were so many things. Grandfather told me nothing in my dream, and did not touch to anything (do not eat). He has just very good looking, he was quiet and neat.

P.S. Dear Imam, I have a problem with the family of one young man who wants to marry me, but his parents opposed despite the fact that we are both Muslims. The thing is that I have mixed blood. Because of this situation, I read istihara prayer.

Dreaming of listening to someone's dhor

Q: My cousin's daughter, who is a Haafiza, had a dream recently about me. In her dream, she sees herself making her dhor and me sitting with her listening to her. I then tell her to continue reading until she comes to the Aayah "Qul Lillahumma Maalikul Mulk". What is the interpretation for such a dream.

Also, I make a humble request that Mufti makes a special dua for me that Allah most merciful removes the difficulty that i am in and protects my honour and dignity.

Dreaming of building a Musjid

Q: I would like an interpretation of the following dream. In the dream I was walking past a small house next to which an extremely small marble and white stone mosque was half built. The height of this mosque was so that my chest was in line with its roof, also the minaret was not constructed as yet. Somehow, with the use of hands and the stone dust particles that were on the roof of the mosque, I managed to make the lower part of the minaret – thinking that I will assist whomsoever who was constructing the mosque and then leave. A white man then came from nearby and his wife was alongside him. His wife was white also and dressed in a hijab. The man greeted me with ‘Hello’, however I, realizing that he is the one building this mosque and also being a Muslim, I responded with ‘As salamualaikium.’ He did not follow the Sunnah way of dressing. For a very short while, we both were working on building this small mosque. Thereafter, he mentioned that he and his wife were Muslims living in Russia; however, a group of people forced them to leave the country due to their Islaam. He said he was building this mosque, as there was no masjid nearby. I told him that there actually was one further down the road and I encouraged him to come and rather read his salaah there. Unexpectedly, a loud gunshot was heard and the man fell to the floor. His wife pointed to a small crowd of people who weren’t wearing any shirts some distance away, saying that these are the same people that caused them to emigrate. His wife then ran away in fear. I lay on the floor next to the man and saw a bad gunshot wound on his chest, near his heart. He was still alive, however he was very close to death and his eyes were making jerking movements. I realised that the Angel of Death was removing his soul from him and I began to recite Surah Yasin, as I remember hearing that this will make death easier for him. As I began reciting Surah Yasin he grew in strength and he was not so close to death anymore. It also appeared to me that his gunshot wound had ‘moved’ from near his heart to his arm and I realized that he could possibly be now saved. I lifted him up and placed him over my shoulders and began carrying him to my school which was across the road from his mosque/home. (I attend a non-Muslim school, but my Biology teacher is a Muslim.) Everything was very chaotic as I carried him and left him with my biology teacher in her classroom - knowing that she will treat his wound. I hurriedly ran back out to go looking for his wife, but could not find her. I returned back to the classroom where my teacher said that his wife came and left. My teacher was applying medicine on his wound then. Also, she said that it was a very good idea to read Surah Yasin by him. The dream then ended.
