Q: What is the Shariah ruling on gelatine? It eludes logical comprehension that many halaal certifying bodies rule as halaal gelatine derived from non-halaal animals in their products. In the event that products containing gelatine derived from non-halaal animals are not approved by halaal certifying bodies whose views defer, then manufacturers simply have their products certified by any one of the other halaal certifying bodies who do grant halaal status to products containing gelatine derived from non-halaal animals. And manufacturers laugh all the way to the bank! But what actually is the Shariah ruling? The halaal certifying bodies concerned aver that the gelatine from non-halaal animals undergoes a metamorphosis when processed and becomes halaal just as soap containing processed ingredients from non-halaal animals is deemed halaal.  

Q: In Saudi Arabia, milk companies fortify their milk, yoghurts, etc. with vitamin a and d. Are these products halaal to consume? Are vitamin A andD halaal?

Q: Is kombucha and kefir halal? These are fermented health drinks that have minimal alcohol content.

Q: I would like to know if ginger beer made from sugar, ginger, yeast, lemon juice and water is halaal. The drink itself isn't for intoxication and it doesn't intoxicate. Is it halaal?

1. A person had raw honey that began bubbling and smelling fermented. Can it be used? Because I read that people make a drink from it.

2. A drink called 'mead' is made from this fermented honey. Would this be permissible?

Q: Can we consume zebra meat?

Q: There are some black things like dots on chicken meat when it comes from the market. If I wash the chicken thoroughly then the black thing like dots are removed, otherwise not. Is it necessary to wash out those black dots?

Also please guide how much a chicken should be washed?
