Method of Salaah

Tasbeehs in Salaah

Q: On Tuesday 25/7/17 a certain female gave a talk after the taaleem. (My cousin asked me this question) She mentioned that reading the relevant tasbeehaat during the different postures of salaah 3 x is actually for musaafir (travellers) and not for those not travelling. We should read upto 11 x tasbeehaat in each posture. We are not ulema so can the ulema please enlighten us...because as far as we know even the imams of the masaajid read 3 x. So have we been taught wrong all the years?

Inaudible Dua after Salaah

Q: I would like to know the ruling concerning dua after the congregation in the masjid. Should it be done audibly or should it be done inaudibly. Some people take offence at the fact that in certain masjids the day after congregation is made inaudible and they feel that because it is a congregation we should make the dua are similarly for everybody in an audible voice.

Facing the palms towards the qiblah when commencing salaah

Q:

1. When starting salah, do your hands have to be facing qiblah?

2. Will salah be valid if you start salah with your hands facing inward towards your head? One time my imam for salatul jumuah started salah and I think his hands were facing inward. What should I do in such a situation if my jumuah is invalid and I am going to have to wait for second jumuah or go catch jumuah at another masjid?

What should the imaam and muqtadi say when coming up from ruku?

Q:

1. Do you have to read samiallahu liman hamidah whilst getting up from rukoo or can you say it after you stand up?

2. Will the salah be invalid or makruh if one says it after getting up?

3. When praying salah in jamat, when the imam says samiallahu liman hamidah does the muqtadi have to say it too or can he just say rabbana lakal hamd?

4. Likewise, does the imam have to say rabbana lakal hamd or does he just say samiallahu liman hamidah and stays quiet after that?

Muqtadis reciting Surah Faatihah in salaah

Q: In chapter no 7 (Surah Al-Araf) verse number 204 it is stated that "When the Qur'an is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace: that ye may receive Mercy". So why do people when praying Fajr, Maghrib and Isha (fardh) behind the imam (first 2 rakahs), when the imam finishes reciting surah AL-Fatiha, many people recite surah fatiha, although the imam is reciting another surah. Please do clarify this.
