Haiz, Istihaazah & Nifaas

Irregular bleeding for nifaas

Q: My aadat for nifas is 40 days and for haiz it keeps on changing but is always between 4 to 7 days. I delivered a baby on 16 september. I bled for 20 days, then because of 3 c sections I had copper t inserted on 24 october, bleeding started on 25 october and continued till 3 november. I am myself a doctor and I know that irregular bleeding is a side effect of copper t for first 3 months. I started bleeding again on 21 November only for 2 days. Then after 10 days again some bleeding now started. Which days wiĺl be haiz and which istihaza? This irregular bleeding is due to copper t as per medical information.

Istihaazah

Q: I started bleeding again after 11 days since my last haiz. Is this regarded as istihaaza? And what are the rules regarding istihazaa? When will I count
my haiz from?

Irregular bleeding

Q: I have a question, one sister recently had a miscarriage of a baby of 7 weeks, and after that during 2 weeks she has been bleeding. I know that just 10 days is the maximum a person is considered napak in the case of Haidh, and 40 days in the case of giving birth, but how is it in this case?

Also there's another sister whose Haidh has altered due to an infection called depropovera, which she used for stopping her Haidh during Hajj. Now she has been bleeding for two weeks, some days it seems that it has stopped but then it comes a lot. Her habitual days was 7 days. So which days are considered Haidh and istihadha?

Baseless beliefs

Q: Regarding menstruation periods I would like to ask the following questions:

1.Are women allowed to have a bath whilst in haidh and nifaas? (I know that this will not make them pure from najasat but are they allowed to bathe because of hot weather and hygienic reasons?)

2. Are women allowed to do istinja using water whilst in period? (Women in our area refrain from using water saying this causes illnesses and is against the laws of haidh and nifaas; is this true?)

3. Are women allowed to drink cold water and ice-creams and other cold products during haidh and nifaas? (Again women in our area refrain strictly from this saying that it is not allowed both for medical and Islamic reasons?)

4. In our area women that are in haidh or nifaas still read salaah (in pretence-meaning that they don't recite anything but pretend that they are reading) in the presence of their fathers and other males using the excuse that they shouldn't know that their daughters, mothers or sisters are in this state. Is this allowed or not?

Irregular bleeding

Q: My question is I am 23 years old girl. I had regular bleeding of 4 to 6 days since the last 9 years. But from the last 3 months the bleeding lasts only for 3 days or some less (68 to 70 hours). I want to know that is this haidh or something else? Should I continue salaah during this period or not?

Irregular bleeding

Q: I am a 29 years old woman. I never had a fixed cycle since I got baaligh. Sometimes I bleed after 35 days and next time after 2 to 3 months. Sometimes bleeding continue for 4 days and other times for 6 days. I never know when will I bleed. Bleeding always lasts between 3 to 10 days, means it is never less than 3 days and never more than 10 days. After it stops it never comes before 30 days, but may not come sometimes even for 2 to 3 months. During the days when I am bleeding it also happens many times that I bleed for 3 days, then it stops completely for 1 to 2 days and then again few drops will come sometimes during next 2 to 3 days. I had 2 children, first time nifas bleeding continued irregularly for 55 days stopping in between completely for 3-5 days and then starting again. Second time nifas came 4-5 days only and then 1 or 2 drops used to come sometimes in a day for 20-30 days. This 1 or 2 drops was not coming everyday but only once in 3-4 days. Till now what I do is when I see blood I stop doing namaz and roza and when blood stops I bath and do my prayer. In my second nifas after 5-6 days I started praying and I used to bath and continue with prayers after this drop of blood used to come. Kindly advise me what I should do in this situation during haidh and nifas both please regarding salah, saum and intercourse?

Irregular bleeding

Q: I am going through menopause so I do not have haidh. Two days ago (Monday) I noticed a red stain at fajr time and was completely clear for two days. I put this down to illness. Today (Wednesday) I have completed umrah, hair trimmed etc. however I have noticed a red stain again. However I am still not sure if this is haidh. What should I do? Please let me know ASAP.
