Ebucks

Q: I recently read a fatwa that you issued with regards to eBucks. Jazakallah for the fatwa. I am struggling to understand one aspect and would like you please clarify it.

As you noted in the definition of interest, interest is “excess devoid of any compensation which either of the transacting parties is entitled to due to it being a pre-condition in that transaction.” So one of the conditions for interest is that it should be a pre-condition which doesn’t seem to be met in eBucks. FNB from time to time changes the amount of eBucks given, the reasons for giving eBucks etc. This shows it is not a pre-condition and it is not part of the contract as FNB from their side only modify it from time to time. If this was a pre-condition and part of the transaction it would require the consent of both transacting parties. Therefore, it seems that the definition of interest does not fit into eBucks. Please clarify.

Wife disobeying the husband

Q: What is Islamic view on

1. Wife going to her parents home without taking permission from her husband?

2. Wife going with her parents to some person who gives taweez without pardah?

3. Wife never listens to husbands view and always listens to her parents and family?

4. Husband travels daily 220 km, and on weekends wants to be with wife, but her parents call her home forcefully, and wife gives priority to her parents and does not listen to her husband.

5. Wife studying mbbs, that's why husband sacrifices plans for not having children's for the next 5 years so not to disturb her studies but wife still utilises spare time to visit her parents and doing work for her younger sisters.

6. Wife's parents are fond of her money and after she completes her degree they want her to work. She is also willing to work, but her husband doesn't like her to work.

What to do, I purchased fazail e Amal and muntakhab and suggested many times to do taleem and once we did taleem in her parents home with her parents. Daily I do taleem and take my wife and all my family members to sit in taleem. My wife listens to whatever her parents tell her whether it's wrong or right.

Making intention of sending someone for umrah if medical reports are clear

Q: Few months back my father's prostate report came abnormal. I made niyat to Allah Ta'ala that I will send someone for umrah and will stop watching TV and movies if his next report comes normal. Then I thought that sending someone for umrah is a good act and stop watching Tv and movies is a bad act, so I made niyat of it irrespective of the result of his next report.

My question is, is my oath a formal oath? Because I made niyat like this "I am making this niyat that I will send someone for umrah and stop watching Tv and movies from now.

According to what I have learnt, an oath or niyat should be taken with the name of Allah like "in the name of Allah" or "wallahi" or similar to this? I am 99 percent sure that while making the niyat I have not taken the name of Allah.

Note: Alhamdulillah with the blessing of Allah I sent one person for umrah but I am unable to avoid TV and movies, i just want to make some changes in it.
