Adopted child

Q: We are three children among whom, my elder brother is the adopted one. Only me and my younger sister are from our parents. For my father there was no inheritance property from his father i.e., my grand father. What ever he earned is his Alhamdulillah and the whole property was in my mother's name. Few years back my father died suddenly. We have one house and two lands. As per my knowledge he wants to give that house to me and land to distribute among my brother and sister. Few years back my mother also died. Initially she wanted to give that house to me. But as there is pressure from my brother's side, she wants to give 50% share to my brother, with which I was not happy. She told me to write that she wants to give 50% of house and one land to me and brother and one land and some jewellery and amount to my sister. After her death the house was taken by me and one land by my brother and one land to my sister and some jewellery and money was distributed among us. What I want to know is:

1. While distributing the property the money which was spent to on my brother's (who is adopted) studies his marriage and my sister's marriage and studies and marriage (which is less compared to my brother and sisters) will also be counted?

2. House was taken by me and one land too and Rs. 300000.00 by my brother and one land and small jewellery by my sister. House cost almost 3 to 4 times of each land. Is this correct?

Ordering prawns for a friend

Q: How do we handle differences of opinion, what should be done in the following scenario: If I'm ordering a takeaway and I order like a chicken curry and the other person wants a prawn curry, is it haram for me to order it when they believe it's halal? Is it also wrong to pass them the prawn curry? Also if someone follows the opinion that commercial vinegar is haram (when it's changed purposely) is it wrong for them to ask for condiments for other person on their food (like mayonnaise on a burger, when mayonnaise, ketchup etc. usually contains vinegar)? Please explain how we should deal with the situations like above. Do you refuse to order prawns which may cause hostility? (I don't mind hostility if it's the correct thing to do!) Thank you.

Marital not interested in the marriage

Q: My husband has become so hostile towards me. He cannot find a job and blames me for that, as I have misplaced his CV. I tried creating one again, but he says it is not the same. He is helping a family with only women, mostly with his money, but then I have to help him pay the debt. His family spoke to him about a non-mahram woman but he told me that if that is a problem, he will marry the woman so that it is not an issue. When I tell him to leave me, he says he will but I must give him a chance to stay at my house till he finds a job. He maintains that he will not free me, even after he leaves. Now I hear remarks from my family that he wants to inherit from me. Can I sell one of my assets, even if I make a loss and give him his share of inheritance, instead of him waiting for me to die. It is very, very painful to see my husband go to these people. The mother and other members of the family calls him to help them (that is the reason he says he goes there). I can be spiteful and sell all my assets and give it to my children whilst I am still alive, but it would be at such a loss. I only have two more years to work and he is cross because I could not get a loan for a franchise for him, even if I put all my assets as security. He accuses me of boycotting the process. I tell him that Allah (Ta'ala) has saved me instead, as he is not really interested in staying with me. Please advise as to what to read, what amaal to do, how to handle the situation.

Car dealer arranging finance for the customer

Q: I am a car dealer. Sometimes customers need leasing facilities from financial companies to finance their cars. Can I introduce them to the leasing companies and process with their loan application like collecting their Bank statements, Payslip, ID Card and submit the same to leasing companies and inform them about the rate of interest adopted by the leasing company?

Stipulating the profits in proportion to the investment

Q: I have a question regarding an investment I made. I invested an amount with an owner of a clothing shop and it was pre agreed that I would receive a set amount of the profits on a monthly basis which I did for a few months. Recently the shop has been doing bad and the owner decided to sell it. Initially we verbally agreed that if for some reason the shop closed he would return the amount I originally invested to me. I am still waiting for my funds as we had not set a time frame. I would like to know if such an investment was permissible and whether the money I originally invested is still halaal for me to use (when I receive it)? I am asking as I am planning to use the money for Hajj insha-Allah one day and don’t want to be in doubt.

Upon whom is Qurbaani waajib

Q:

1. Is Qurbaani fardh or an emphasized Sunnah?

2. I have read it is sufficient for a man to slaughter on behalf of his family - is this correct, false or a difference of opinion

3. Can you dedicate a sacrifice in general, but also doing Qurbani for a dead relative (dedicating the reward to them), also can you do this for the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) as in dedicate the reward to him? I know it's not a Sunnah, but is it allowed?

Dealing in gold

Q: There is a company that carries out gold trading. I will pay them some amount and they will open a gold account for me. Gold rates are linked with the real gold rates which are current internationally. When I buy gold from my money, this gold is not physical. Rather, it is just the value of the gold that reflects. If I want to sell that gold, I can get my money back (not the gold) to my account. It could be profit or loss.
