Forcing people to wear the mask

Q: There is a view amongst some Muslim Scholars during this Covid Pandemic that one should have Tawakkul and ignore the government protocol and recommendations. Even our children in Madrasah are being told to remove their masks, while their schools insist on masks being worn.

Did our Nabi Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and his noble Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) not wear body armour for protection in preparation for wars? In doing so, did they not have Tawakkul? If these were worn to offer some protection why is our wearing masks and exercising social distancing viewed by some as having no faith in Allah Ta'ala?

The statistics speak for themselves - Muslims make up around 2% of the South African population but account on some days for close up to 30% of the fatalities countrywide. Should the Ulama not be cognizant of this and guide the community accordingly?

Switching off the breathing machine

Q: My grandfather is currently laying in hospital. He needs to use the breathing machine just to keep him alive. The doctor told us that we need to make the choice to keep the breathing machine on him or remove it but he is dead without the breathing machine. He can't move or talk or anything anymore.

Will it be better to remove the breathing machine or should it be kept on him, possibly leading to more suffering?

Is it compulsory to follow the advice of a doctor?

Q: My question is regarding recent time of crisis when some of my fellow Muslims deny the lockdown and go to masjid. I try to convince them but need a proper basis. Somewhere I read, that it is mentioned in hadees, that If a person goes against the saying of doctor and eats prohibited things by doctor/expert which result to his death, it will be considered as suicide. Is it true? If yes, where is it mentioned.
