Attending Hindu festivals

A son that has become murtad

Q: A South African Muslim's son became a Christian. Should his family cut of all ties with him? He assists his parents with cash and kind as they are not well to do, can they accept this help? His father died, can he attend the janaazah? Can he pay towards all the burial expenses? He now comes home often to console his mother and fulfil any needs she has as he can, is this fine? The rest of the family are adamant that his mother and sister cut off all ties with him and stop him from coming home. Is this correct advice according to Shari'ah? He has two small children who are dearly loved by their  grandmother. Can they visit? Is it correct to call them children of Shaitaan?

Ghadats

Q: While I was in Johannesburg recently we were invited to a "Ghadat". I wanted to attend but my wife refused to, as she comes from a well known family of learned Scholars and they don't attend such gatherings. I, myself, have never yet attended a Ghadat. What is the purpose of such a gathering and is it allowed in the Shariah?

I have declined to say the prayer but they want to know on what basis because all the other teachers from different religions say it and according to them it's not a Christian but universal prayer. Enjoying jannah or jahannum from the grave

Q:

1. I have some confusion about the day of judgement. There is a Hadith saying that if someone recite Ayatul kursi after each faraz namaz, the only distance between him and paradise is his death. What after we die, whether we will wait in our qabar for the day of judgement or will go to paradise in this case?

2. A killer who is dead now will wait till the day of qiyaamat or will he get the punishment right after his death. If right after his death then what will be on the day of Judgment? Please explain with authentic sources.
