Jamaat Salaah and Imaamat

Imaam breaking his wudhu

Q: If the Imaam breaks his wudhu during leading prayer, I know he can appoint another to be imaam, but is it also aloud that the jamaat does continue each individually their salaah ? Also, if the imaam is just leading 1 person, what is the situation then?

Continuity in the saffs

Q: What is the masaalah in regards to making Iqtidaa of a jamaat which is situated in a building disconnected by a distance of about 50 meters or so? ( a separate building) for eg.. a female jamaat making iqtidaa of the main jamaat in another building etc... on this point if Mufti Saheb could please discuss the situation in the haram when salaah is performed on the roads in saffs which are disconnected.

Ladies following the Taraweeh Salaah with jamaat

Q: We have a small Musallah at our University where five times daily salaat takes place. The Musallah is used by students and residents of the surrounding area. There is also a ladies Musallah. We have received a request from some of the residents of the area to allow ladies to follow the Imam in taraweeh salaah. The committee is unsure on the permissibility of this and would like to seek your advice. Another factor to take into consideration is that the only facility the could be available for ladies is a Wendy house that is situated alongside the males Musallah. (the ladies Musallah is in front of the Imam, hence ladies cannot follow from there). The wendy house is behind the Imam, but there is a gap between the males Musallah and the wendy house. The saffs do not flow from the males musallah into the wendy house. Will it be permissible to perform salaah in the wendy house?

Making Jamaat at home

Q: If the men of a household pray their salaah in their own house with jamaat, is this wrong? I understand they wouldn't get the reward of going to the masjid, but if they make a habit of praying their prayer at home with jamaat, is this a sin?

Making niyyat for leading women in Salaah

Q: I know that it is necessary for the Imam to make in intention for leading the females in a congregation. However, what is the ruling if initially the congregation is all males, but then a female joins afterwards? Will the Imam have to change is intention in mid-prayer? Also, what if the imam never finds out that a female has joined the congregation (since he can't turn around), will the females prayer be valid?

The person that is most capable should lead the Salaah

Q: Narrated Abu Huraira (raziallahuanhu): Allah's Apostle (sallalahualaywasallam) said, "If the Imam leads the prayer correctly then he and you will receive the rewards but if he makes a mistake (in the prayer) then you will receive the reward for the prayer and the sin will be his. Respected Scholars,

I am in Nigeria of an Indian origin and where I stay we have an small Masjid over there for daily prayer except Juma salah. Most of the time Imam travel as he is not the permanent Imam of the masjid, so in his absence, people always request me to lead the salah. I found myself not very good to recite Qur'an with Tajweed. Based on the above hadith I am scared that am I doing correct or not.

My intention to lead the salah is to establish deen and the commandment of Allah swt at my level best.

Following an Ibaadi Imaam

Q: In Oman local people follow an ibadi imam and they are not reciting sura's with sure fatiha in the first 2 rakats of zohar & Asr Salaah. Since im not praying with jamat (mostly 2nd jamath (not 1st jamat) inside masjid but juma salaah is not prayed on Friday) If the ibaadi imam leads the prayer during asr and zohar I pray separatly.

Imaam leading the Salaah with his trousers below his ankles

Q: In the area that I've moved to, the imaam of the local Musjid leads the Salaahs with his trousers below his ankles. Does it diminish from the Musallis reward to follow such an imaam and is it permissible?

Also, after every Salaah, the imaam systematically makes the same short dua after reciting taqdeer once and istigfaar thrice, followed by Ayaatul Kursi, Tasbeeh-e-Fateemi, the fourth kalimaah thrice, and then the same lengthy dua after each Salaah. Is this allowed? And if not, Should I as a Musalli remain in the gathering so as not to create any conflicts with the locals, or rather just leave and perform my Sunnahs?
