Q: My period is continuing till 14 days. What should I do?
A: The maximum period of haidh is 10 days. If a woman has a set pattern of bleeding e.g. 7 days, and the blood continued for more than 10 days, then 7 days will be regarded as haidh and the remaining days will be regarded as istihaazah. She will have to make qadha for the Salaah missed after the seven days. Similarly in the state of istihaazah she will make wudhu and perform her Salaah as normal. She will be treated as a woman who is paak. Hence if you have a set pattern of haidh and the bleeding surpassed ten days, then you will regard the extra bleeding as istihaazah. However if the bleeding continues for more than the days of a woman's pattern, but stops within ten days, then in this case her pattern will change and the entire period will be regarded as haidh.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
