Making a false allegation against an Aalim of Deen

Q: My brother was informed by someone that Hazrat Hakeemul Ummat, Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (rahmatullahi alaihi) had kept bottles of wine with him to give as gifts to non-Muslims. Is it true, or is it a false allegation?

A: This is not true. This is a false allegation against a great Aalim of Deen. Whoever makes this allegation, he should be prepared to stand on the bridge of Jahannum while the fire will be burning below him and he will then be made to furnish evidence for the claim that he had made against this great Aalim of Deen or against any other innocent Muslim. If he does not furnish the evidence, he will be plunged into Jahannum.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
