Q: Is it permissible for a group of ladies in a state of haidh, nifaas or istihaadha to a Jamaat Khaana for teaching and learning?
A: In this time and age where we find fitnahs on the increase, it is best that the ta’leem and t’allum (learning and teaching) take place within the home. The overwhelming fitnahs everywhere are uncontrollable. A woman should protect herself from falling into fitnah and from people having suspicions and doubts regarding herself. It is likely that if she ventures out of her home, she could become a victim of men casting lustful glances towards her, or strange men wishing to start a conversation or interfering with her. Hence, the Hadith encourages women to remain within the confines of their home. If each aapa concentrates on teaching the children of her locality or around her home, there will be no need for women to leave their homes. However for the difficult masaa’il of Deen, if they require assistance they could meet once a week or once in two weeks at a neutral venue (where there is no fitnah, perhaps a Jamaat khaana or somebody’s home) and discuss among themselves those complex issues.
It is permissible for a woman to enter a Jamaat khaana in the state of haidh, nifaas or istihaadha.
