Paying fidyah before the month of Ramadhaan

Q: Is it permissible to pay fidyah before Ramadhaan?

When paying fidyah, can the full amount be paid at the beginning of Ramadhaan or must it be paid at the end of Ramadhaan?

A: If one is unable to fast due to sickness, ill health etc. he should give fidyah (the amount of sadaqatul fitr) for each missed fast. Later on, if he recovers, then he should keep qadha for the missed fasts.

Fidyah cannot be paid before the month of fasting commences. After the month commences, the one who is unable to fast may give the fidyah for each day separately or for two or more fasts together. If one wishes, one may give the fidyah for the whole month together.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
