Mahram accompanying a woman to the Haram Shareef

Q:
1.When going for Umrah, in light of it being makrooh for women to go to the Masjid, should a woman rather remain in her room for salaah (in Madinah Shareef as well)?
2. Usually men go to the Haram for salaah, tawaaaf, Rawdha, etc. and the women go by themselves in their own time. Is this OK or should the mahram accompany them?
A:
1. Yes, it is much more virtuous for a woman to perform her namaaz in her home.
2. If they are totally safe and they do not apprehend any type of fear and they are strong it is alright. Even then, it is better to go with a mahram or a group of women.
