Partaking of a meal (from a fully halaal restaurant) gifted to one by a non-Muslim

Q: Is it permissible for a person to partake of a meal (from a fully halaal restaurant) gifted to one by a non-Muslim?

A: If one feels sure that the food was purchased from the halaal restaurant (e.g. the packaging showed that it was purchased from there), and one does not have any doubts regarding the person who is gifting it to him, then it will be permissible for him to consume it. Though it may be permissible if one does not have any doubts, however, due to the amount of fitnah and fasaad (corruption and wrongs) that are widespread, we discourage one from accepting food items (which can be doubtful) as gifts from kuffaar.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
