Spotting after nifaas

Q: A woman had nifaas for 40 days. She then spotted for 2 weeks. She had five months of no bleeding. She spotted for two weeks. She had 13 days of no bleeding. The next day she saw one spot of blood. She saw no blood for four days. On the fifth day, she saw one spot of blood. Her habit before nifaas was 17 days purity and 9 days bleeding. Should she follow the habit from before nifaas, or does she have a new habit based on her lengthy tuhr after nifaas?

A: After her nifaas had ended, since she did not experience a saheeh tuhr and a saheeh haidh, her previous pattern did not change. Hence, she should revert to her previous pattern of tuhr and haidh before experiencing nifaas i.e. 17 days of tuhr and 9 days of haidh.

Note:

1. A saheeh haidh refers to that bleeding which is more than three days, but does not exceed ten days and there is no spotting or bleeding thereafter for fifteen full days.

2. A saheeh tuhr refers to a period of fifteen clean days after a saheeh haidh ends.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
