Earning by investing some money by liking and subscribing to different YouTube channels and uploading them to an app
Q: There is an online app in which you get a daily job by investing some money by liking and subscribing to different YouTube channels and uploading them to the app. It gives daily money on account of investment. Like invest 15000 rs and have to do 10 daily tasks and get 600 rs daily. Is it halal?
A: Earning wealth through this means is not permissible as it does not conform to the principles of shariah.
In shariah, one can earn wealth through either a business transaction or an ijaarah contract or a shirkat (partnership). When we examine this agreement, we find that it does not conform to the principles of any of these three transactions.
It is not a business transaction, as one is not purchasing something for a specified price. Hence, does not enter under the law of a business transaction.
Similarly, this agreement cannot be regarded as an ijaarah contract. The reason is that in an ijaarah contract, the employee is paid only for his service. He is not asked to invest any wealth in the ijaarah, whereas in this case, one is asked to invest as well as do certain tasks of uploading material in order for him to earn a specific amount of wealth. Hence, this type of ijaarah is not permissible as it goes against the principles of ijaarah and the money earned through it will not be halaal.
Likewise, this agreement cannot be regarded as a shirkat (partnership), as in a partnership, the profits are fixed according to a percentage after investing some capital and doing trade together. Specifying a certain amount of wealth based on a certain amount of work contradicts the principles of a shirkat (partnership). Hence, this agreement is not a partnership.
Furthermore, if the material one is asked to upload contains haraam (pictures of animate objects, music, indecent content), then apart from this agreement being impermissible, these factors will further compound the sin. Therefore, the money earned through this means is haraam.
