Husband asking his wife to wear hijaab in the house

Q: Can a husband ask his wife to wear hijab even in their house when they are in seclusion or when the wife is home alone?

A: If hijaab refers to wearing a scarf while in the home, then this is in keeping with the Islamic culture. Though it is permissible for a woman to leave her hair open when she is alone in the home, however, it is better for her to cover her hair so that she enjoys the company of the angels. Leaving her hair open will cause her to be deprived of the company of the angels. Therefore, her husband may encourage her to wear her scarf and dress in a modest manner when she is within the confines of her home.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
