Selling bookmarks and jewellery from home

Q: I will be starting a small business from home. It's a small business and it is where I make resin keychains, bookmarks and jewellery and I sell them.

I am a woman in purdah so I will be doing it from home Insha Allah. I would like to seek the Ulama's advice as to how can I bring Deen into the business.

A: You should ensure the chains, bookmarks, etc. you make do not have anything impermissible in the wording or in the design, or have any connotations of kufr or shirk.

Selling imitation jewellery is permissible. However, in regard to rings, apart from gold and silver, it is not permissible for a Muslim woman to wear imitation rings. Hence, you should avoid selling imitation rings.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
