Applying mehndi and eating mithai on Eid day

Q: Will applying mehndi designs to the hands and eating mithai on the day of eid be considered as following the Hindus since they do the above on their celebration days? If yes, then should it be avoided?
A: This is permissible. Applying mehndi on the hands and feet is a sunnah practice for women and eating sweetmeats is something permissible and is not exclusive to the hindus.
