Q: I have some Malawian friends who are barbers. However they also shave the customers beards, also cut 2 length haircuts, etc.
Sometimes they give me some money. Is it permissible for me to take and use that money?
A: Shaving the beard of the client as well as giving a two length haircut is not permissible. If the majority of the income is earned through giving clients impermissible haircuts, then refrain from accepting their money or gifts. If you are able to explain to them that what they are doing is against the laws of shariah and this will affect their earnings, then you should do so.
