Q: Is it permissible for the son in law to hug his mother in law if she is not old?
A: On account of the abundant fitnah found everywhere today, this is totally discouraged. Apart from this, if while hugging, any one of the two experience any lustful feeling, then the nikaah of the son in law with his wife will break.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
