Muslim business using adverts with Christmas decorations and selling Christmas items

Q:

1. Is it permissible for a Muslim business owner to promote his business using adverts with Christmas decorations?

2. Can a Muslim businessman sell Christmas lights, trees, decorations, etc.?

3. What is the ruling regarding a person decorating his business with Christmas lights, Santa Clause etc.?

A: 1,2 & 3. It is not permissible for a Muslim to promote his business using adverts with Christmas decorations. Similarly, it is not permissible for a Muslim to sell Christmas lights, trees, decorations, etc. or to decorate his business with Christmas lights, Santa Clause, etc. as in all of this, he will be promoting Christianity.

A Muslim has been sent in the world to promote Islam and to support the cause of righteousness and haqq. A Muslim has not been sent to support the cause of baatil (falsehood) and spread shirk and kufr in the world.

When Christianity is no longer accepted by Allah Ta'ala on account of Islam being the only religion accepted by Allah Ta'ala, then through one aiding and supporting Christianity, one will be sinful in the court of Allah Ta'ala as one will be supporting kufr and shirk in the world.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
