Q: If a female who was born out of wedlock and raised by her maternal grandparents as their own, who is her Mahram?
Does her uncles, her mother's brothers become her Mahram?
Will her brother, they share the same mother but not father become her Mahram? And are her male cousins, sons of her mother's sister's and brother's become her Mahram?
A: Mahram refers to all those people whom one cannot marry. Hence, in this situation her mahrams will be her maternal grandfather and his brothers, her maternal uncles and her half brother. Her male maternal cousins are not her mahrams as she can marry them. Hence, she will have to make pardah from her male maternal cousins.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
