Delaying fardh hajj due to one’s wife being ill

Q: Is it permissible for a person to delay his fardh hajj due to his wife being ill?

A: If one’s wife has fallen ill then he should make arrangements for her to be taken care of during his absence (e.g. he may leave her at her parents’ home so that they may take care of her). He should not postpone his fardh hajj.

However, in the case where there is no one to take care of her (e.g. they are living in a foreign land and they do not have any relatives there), it will be permissible for him to delay his fardh hajj in order to take care of her.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
